About England Rugby Colleges

England Rugby Colleges is the National Constituent Body for Colleges Rugby and is run by a number of volunteers who are currently or have previously worked in Colleges of Further Education. Colleges Sport has for years relied on the enthusiasm, dedication and expertise of a large number of volunteers who give their time freely to support the development of the game.

The Unions committees consist of colleagues from across the Country who are continually looking at ways to develop the game in the sector and importantly enrich and support the student experience. The value of a volunteer can never be underestimated and England Rugby Colleges aim to increase the number of student volunteers who can enrich and support the development and sustainability of the game both in their own Colleges but also the student’s local rugby clubs.

Diversity & Inclusion

Rugby is a sport founded on inclusion and being open to all. While there is diversity in rugby, England Rugby Colleges recognises that there is a long way to go before the wider rugby community truly reflects society.

England Rugby Colleges aims to ensure rugby union is more inclusive, so that everyone feels welcome, included and that they belong in rugby.

Leaders and volunteers within the game should fully reflect our current and future players, as well as the game as a whole. This will increase the likelihood of the game growing and thriving.

Everyone Has a Part to Play

Everyone at England Rugby Colleges, as well as everyone within our colleges, has a part to play.

Diversity is a fact, while inclusion is an outcome and a choice, our choice. For the benefit of rugby, it is important that we make this choice and embrace everything that comes with it.
